17-47: Rail Road Labourer

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Works independently or as a member of a crew maintaining railway tracks and switches. Will also train to be a Railroad Operator relief and follow the line of progression with the collective agreement.
Reporting to the Railway Supervisor, the primary duties of this job include, but are not limited to:
The successful candidate must be physically fit and able to handle track maintenance work using hand tools such as shovels, picks, rail tongs, bars, track jacks, sledgehammer, spike maul and several pneumatic tools. The successful applicant may be required to pass a pre-placement medical.
