SALARY: $19.23 per hour (35 hrs/wk)

Northern College is committed to stimulating the social and economic growth of our region by increasing capacity in Applied Research and Entrepreneurship. The role of the Applied Research and Entrepreneurship office clerk Intern is to help support Northern College's vision and strategic direction within our current ecosystem. The intern will help expand our reach and increase collaboration with industry and stakeholders alike. With stronger connection to industry, the intern will in turn help identify experiential learning opportunities for our students.
Work in an office environment in the Applied Research, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation department.
Help design and build the new vision for the department including the creation of the Innovation Hub
Help organize and facilitate outreach activities to support applied research, entrepreneurship, and Innovation Hub awareness.
Help liaise with our network of partners and industry stakeholders to promote the new Applied Research and Entrepreneurship opportunities.
Assist in Innovation Hub activities including reporting, timekeeping, data collection, agency requests, etc.
Assist in developing and implementing the new marketing plan, including website content, social media, flyers, and other platforms.
Assist students in their entrepreneurial endeavors.
Maintain paper and digital file management system including confidential documents.
Help gather relevant data regarding mentors, clients, partners, and projects. Data to include reporting metrics for the Ontario Centers of Excellence (OCE), Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), and others for both internal and external uses.
Assist in compiling required reports for review and submission to various government agencies.
University and college graduates who have graduated within the last three years from an accredited college or university. Candidates must be graduates of post-secondary business degree or diploma programs.
First-time employment in related field.
Candidates are only eligible to participate in the internship program one time.
Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Superior computer skills and program applications.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to converse in English and French would be an asset.
Valid WHMIS.WHMIS review card is a requirement for employment
