We’re Hiring – Draftsperson (CAD Technician)

Joelle's Technical Resources & Custom Works Inc. (JTR) is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Draftsperson (CAD Technician) to join our growing team in Timmins, Ontario.

Position Summary

The Draftsperson will prepare accurate technical drawings and layouts for fabrication, welding, structural steel, piping, and industrial projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the Operations Manager, engineers, supervisors, and clients to ensure drawings meet project specifications and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other CAD software.
• Produce fabrication and shop drawings from engineering sketches and specifications.
• Revise and update drawings based on project changes.
• Maintain drawing revisions and document control.
• Assist with estimating, material take-offs, and project planning.
• Work closely with field and shop personnel to resolve drawing-related issues.
• Ensure all drawings comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, or a related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
• Experience with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software is considered an asset.
• Experience with mining, industrial, fabrication, or heavy construction projects is considered a strong asset.
• Knowledge of welding, structural steel, mechanical systems, and piping is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently while meeting project deadlines.
