About This Opportunity

This position will join our team working in Timmins, Ontario on a full-time basis. The schedule will primarily depend on employee location and travel requirements.

This position offers a salary range of $55.00 - $80.00 per hour.

Primary Responsibilities

The Longhole Driller will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating underground longhole drilling equipment in support of production requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operate pneumatic and/or top-hammer production longhole drills

  • Drill production holes according to approved layouts, specifications and direction

  • Complete drill setup, alignment and relocation between work areas

  • Perform drilling in various orientations and ground conditions

  • Complete pre-operational inspections and identify equipment deficiencies

  • Monitor drilling performance, hole condition and equipment operation

  • Assist with routine maintenance, servicing and troubleshooting as required

  • Maintain accurate drilling and production records

  • Work effectively with supervisors, engineering, survey, blasting and maintenance personnel

  • Maintain clean and organized work areas

  • Follow all applicable health, safety and operating procedures

Preferred Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years of pneumatic and/or top-hammer longhole drilling experience

  • Ontario Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core, with applicable longhole drilling modules.

  • Demonstrated underground hard-rock mining experience

  • Experience with production longhole drilling and associated drilling practices

  • Ability to interpret drill layouts and underground production instructions

  • Strong understanding of safe drill operation and underground workplace hazards

  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Eligible to work in Canada
