POSITION SUMMARY

Under the functional direction of the Director of Health, the Primary Care Manager oversees the overall management, supervision, direction, and development of the Primary Care Team (PCT) in the achievement of Mushkegowuk’s Primary Care Hub Model. The Primary Care Manager is responsible for the coordination of day-to-day operations of the Primary Care Team. Responsive to the on-going growing needs, the Primary Care Manager will work to close persistent gaps in primary care for the unique needs of the Mushkegowuk Region in both urban and community settings.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • A degree in Nursing, Health Administration, or Business Administration, or related field
  • A minimum of five (5) years of supervisory or management experience in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of primary health care systems and primary care models.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizing skills.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and supervisory skills.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of the Mushkegowuk culture and health issues affecting Mushkegowuk members and communities.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Search with Vulnerable Sector Screening
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work flexible hours and under minimum supervision
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Ability to communicate in the Cree language an asset
  • Valid “G” driver’s license an asset
