POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Director of Youth Services, and with the recommendations of the Mushkegowuk Regional Youth Council, the Regional Youth Coordinator shall be responsible for managing all programs and activities within the Youth Services Department within the Mushkegowuk Council.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience in Education, Social Services, or a related field,
- Must possess significant experience working with First Nations youth, including an understanding of the Mushkegowuk culture, traditions, and holistic practices,
- Positive role model and leading a healthy lifestyle,
- Keen interest and commitment in working with Mushkegowuk youth,
- Knowledge of various youth related programs and events,
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with youth,
- Be able to demonstrate motivation and initiative,
- Budget planning and management,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
- Excellent research and writing skills,
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills,
- Ability to adapt to situations as they evolve and change,
- High level of tact and diplomacy to deal effectively with internal and external stakeholders, youth, and contacts,
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to work with minimal supervision in a team-oriented setting,
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including database applications,
- Ability to communicate with youth through various applications and platforms,
- A clear criminal reference check (CPIC) and Vulnerable Sector Clearance will be a condition of employment,
- Must possess a willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and/or weekends,
- The ability to communicate in the Cree language will be considered an asset,
- Class “G” driver’s licence
