After Hours Clinic Student: Medical Receptionist/Administrative Assistant

The White Pines Family Health Network is seeking a dynamic student to join our collaborative primary care team of Family Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Integrated Health Professionals. We are seeking a student to work the After Hours Walk-in Clinic as an administrative assistant/medical receptionist. The individual is passionate about healthcare excellence and is able to use discretion while working with sensitive information.
Job Responsibilities:
Opens the after-hours clinic office (unlock doors, turn off alarms, opens and prepares examination rooms)
Welcomes and serves patients by greeting and helping them, manages patient intake
Cleans and sanitizes examination rooms in between patients
Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records
Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal information
Protects patients’, doctors’, and staff’s rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical and personal information
Maintains operations by following policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations
Handles laboratory specimens and ensures laboratory requisitions are filled out and labelled correctly
Responsible for end-of-day operations (clean and close examination rooms, set alarms, lock doors)

Previous experience with Telus PS Suites is considered an asset
