SUMMARY:

Fort Albany First Nation provides Band Representative and Prevention Programming to registered and affiliated Fort Albany First Nation members involved with Child Welfare agencies.

 

The Post Majority Care Supervisor will provide supervision and leadership to the Post-Majority Support Services team. They will lead the ongoing design, delivery, and implementation of Post-Majority Support Services.

 

Post Majority Support Services are for youth ageing out of care and young adults formerly in care, from the age of majority up to and including the age of 25. Post Majority support services provide voluntary wrap-around supports that meet the distinct needs and promotes wholistic positive outcomes for First Nations youth and young adults as they transition into adulthood.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Post Majority Care Supervisor shall:

•     Develop Post Majority Care Support Services designed to address the identified needs of children, youth, and families in the community.

•     Develop and implement program objectives, policies and procedures and inform other First Nation departments to increase understanding and support service coordination.

•     Provide direction regarding service delivery standard and First Nation policy to Post Majority Care support Services team.

•     Identify needs in service delivery approaches, policy, and coordination, and adapt program delivery as required.

•     Become familiar with Frist Nation Child and Family Services Post-Majority support services program objectives and guidelines and utilize in the delivery of First Nation program supports, services and internal processes.

•     Complete service reviews and track progress in meeting service plan objectives.

•     Provide reports and statistical data to Child Welfare Manager and First Nation Leadership on a quarterly basis and/or as required.

•     Participate in the community for the purpose of understand community values, strengths and concerns related to community wellness.

•     Frequent travel between Timmins and Fort Albany, and or Fort Albany and Timmins

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Bachelor of Social Work Degree or relevant Social Services Diploma.

·         Minimum Two (2) years management/leadership experience working in a similar field.

·         Strong clinical knowledge of social work theories and practices and superior knowledge and skill in the Program area

·         Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills.

·         Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of accountability and liability.

·         Possess a valid Driver’s Licence with a clean driver’s abstract.

·         Must provide a Criminal Record Check prior to employment.

·         Must be willing and able to travel.

·         The ability to speak Cree an asset.

·         Must be available to work flexible hours.
