Salary Rate: $20.03 + 4% vacation pay, as per CUPE Local 1484 CBA
Hours of Work: 12-hour shifts (day and night shifts available)
Location: Timmins, ON
Duration: Approximately 12 weeks
SUMMARY

The Emergency Vehicle Technician will support the CDSB vision by ensuring readiness of vehicles and equipment. Working with the CDPS team and under the direction of the Commanders of Operations, they are responsible for restocking, disinfecting and assisting crews pre and post request for service in accordance with CDSB policies and procedures and CDSB Vision & Values.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION
- Disinfect all frequently touched surfaces in the crew rooms, training room, stock room bathrooms and entrances
- Disinfect showers daily
- Replenish linen cupboard at the Timmins and District Hospital
- Pick up dirty linen bags at the Timmins and District Hospital
- Mop out all vehicles after every call and at shift end
- Restock vehicles post calls
- Wash exterior of all ambulances/PRU
- Ensure garage floor is clean (Timmins and South Porcupine)
- Sweep and mop crew room/training room (Timmins and South Porcupine)
- Vehicle movement (garage/other bases)
- Complete vehicle deep cleans and enter data into OPIQ
- Complete inventory of the stock room and create a list of missing stock.
- Empty all garbage’s and dispose of the bags in the dumpster
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 - OSSD diploma OR enrolment in a post-secondary diploma or degree program
- Enrolment in a post-secondary Paramedic program will be considered an asset
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Satisfactory criminal record check
- Use of a vehicle may be required
- Valid Ontario's driver's license
- Travel may be required
- May be required to work irregular hours (including weekends)
- Must maintain confidentiality
- Bilingualism in accordance with the French Language Services policy
