Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)

Full-time, Part-time and Casual

Located in Timmins, Ontario, Jubilee Centre is a community-based agency offering specialized, medically assisted live-in addiction & mental health services (concurrent disorders) in a safe home-like, therapeutic community environment. We are currently seeking Program Workers to complement our multidisciplinary client care team on the Intensive Treatment & Rehabilitation Unit and on the MH Crisis & WMS Unit.

Summary of Duties & Responsibilities Reporting to the Nursing Supervisor/Nurse Practitioner, the RPN is responsible for delivering safe, evidence-based nursing care within their scope of service in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) Professional Standards and organizational values and priorities.

Qualifications

·         Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in good standing with CNO; or

·         Graduate of an RPN program and eligible as a Candidate to the Profession; or

·         Registered RPN in another Canadian jurisdiction willing to relocate and obtain Ontario registration

·         Current BCLS (CPR) certification

·         Experience in mental health and addictions preferred

·         Proficiency with Microsoft Office, electronic health records, and medication management systems

Skills/Attributes

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills

·         Ability to assess, monitor and document mental health and physical health status and client response to pharmaceutical interventions

·         Ability to recognize, assess, monitor and document behaviors associated with mental health and substance related disorders

·         Knowledge of trauma-informed care, harm reduction and recovery-oriented care

·         Ability to work independently and within an interdisciplinary team

·         Strong problem-solving and organizational skills

·         Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations

·         Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset

·         Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends

Preferred Candidates:

·         Indigenous candidates (First Nations, Inuit, Métis) with knowledge of Cree, Ojibway, or Oji-Cree languages

·         Bilingual candidates (English/French)

·         Individuals with lived experience

Wages and Benefits:

·         Full-time: $30.88/hr to $34.34/hr (increases per Collective Agreement)

·         Shift premiums: $1.20/hr (evenings), $1.60/hr (nights)

·         Benefits include vacation, statutory holidays, paid leave days sick time, and group benefits (health, dental vision, life insurance, pension and CNO reimbursement)

·         Part-time: 17% in lieu of vacation of benefits
