SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the OW/Housing Program Manager, the position will provide person-centric support to clients and the public in a caring and respectful manner in accordance with CDSB policies, procedures, visions and values.

Key Responsibilities of Position
- Complete intake applications by phone, in person, or online
- Receive ODSP applications for Discretionary Benefits
- Respond to inquiries from clients and the public.
- Receive and provide information to and from clients.
- Assist clients with Resource Centre tools.
- Perform Resource Centre reception services, including handling telephone and in-person general inquiries.
- Schedule new appointments and assign cases to Case Managers.
- Accept and process payments as required.
- Complete bank deposits.
- Process Northern Travel Grants.
- Complete intakes for funerals.
- Assign physical and electronic files to appropriate staff.
- Complete third-party information requests.
- Complete electronic and physical file transfers in and out of the district.
- Monitor work queues and transfer tasks as appropriate.
- Process and update Housing applications.
- Perform reception and filing functions.
- Provide clerical support and back-up for other case aides.
- Compile statistics and reports as necessary.
- Sort and prepare incoming and outgoing mail.
- Answer and direct inquiries via phone, fax, computer or in office visits.
- Respond to general inquiries about CDSB programs.
- Booking boardroom or spare office as required
- Booking common rooms in Housing establishments
- Support other various programs and initiatives, including but not limited to EO programs
across locations (e.g., Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Matheson) - Provide information on programs and other community agencies as required
- Participate as a member of the team and contribute to effective relationship management
and corporate culture - Provide support with the use of office equipment and technology.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
- Excellent written communication and customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability in work processing and spreadsheet software
- General knowledge of privacy laws and confidentiality
- Working knowledge of the full range of programs and services delivered by the CDSB
- Knowledge of Social Assistance, Employment Ontario, Childcare and Housing technology
or software
Education & Experience
- Two-year diploma is office administration or business administration with related experience or a combination of education/experience acceptable to the employer
- Relevant experience in social services
Conditions of Employment
- Satisfactory Criminal Records Check
- Use of a vehicle may be required.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Travel may be required.
- May be required to work irregular hours.
- Out of office work required.
- Must maintain confidentiality.
- Bilingual in accordance with the French Language Services policy.
