POSITION SUMMARY
The Mental Wellness Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting culturally grounded, trauma-informed mental wellness programming across the Mushkegowuk territory. This role plays a key leadership function by providing oversight and guidance to the Mental Wellness Team, ensuring services are aligned with community needs, organizational goals, and Indigenous approaches to healing.
REQUIREMENTS
· Degree or diploma in Social Work, Indigenous Studies, Psychology, or a related field; a combination of relevant education and experience will be considered
· Minimum 3 years of experience in mental wellness, community health, or related human services, preferably in Indigenous contexts
· Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous cultures, values, and approaches to healing, with experience working respectfully with Elders and Knowledge Keepers
· Proven experience coordinating programs or services, including interagency collaboration and community engagement
· Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to support and guide a multidisciplinary team
· Familiarity with trauma-informed, culturally safe, and strengths-based practices
· Ability to travel regularly to communities across the Mushkegowuk territory
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital communication tools
· Cree language fluency is an asset.
· Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly across the Mushkegowuk region.
· Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening
